Matthew Aycock, CPA
Managing Partner
As the Managing Partner, Matt is responsible for guiding the overall mission of the firm. He works closely with his clients, which consist of wealthy families and small/medium sized businesses. Matt believes Aycock & Company differentiates itself from other CPA firms by caring about each client's unique needs by being proactive and responsive in every client situation.
Matt began his career at Arthur Andersen in the Private Client Service Group in 1998. Thereafter, Matt spent four years at two local accounting firms in Houston focused on serving wealthy families and small/medium sized businesses. In February of 2006, Matt founded Aycock & Company.
Matt is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Texas. He is a member of the Houston Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Matt is also involved in a number of charitable and civic organizations. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and then attended Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi where he earned his accounting degree.
Born and raised in South Texas, Matt spent time playing golf as a child. Matt played collegiate golf during his time at the University of Texas and also competed professionally for a brief period after graduating. Matt and his wife Heather have three beautiful children and live in the Memorial area of Houston. In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling with his family and being a pilot.
Jason D. George, CPA
Partner
Jason is a Partner with Aycock & Company, LLP. He is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Houston CPA Society. Jason graduated from Texas A&M University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in Accounting and a Master's of Science degree in Accounting with an emphasis on taxation. Prior to joining Aycock & Company, LLP, Jason worked with Deloitte Tax LLP in the Private Client Advisors Group for nearly four years. With Deloitte, Jason served high-net worth individuals and private businesses, and specialized in tax compliance and consulting for real estate and oil & gas companies.
Doug Garner, CPA
Partner
Doug Garner has practiced public accounting since 2010. His focus includes providing proactive tax planning, consulting, and income tax services to closely held entities, real estate portfolios, private equity transactions, and high-net worth family groups. He is deeply involved with tax compliance and technical issues related to flow-through entities and the owners. Doug’s success is driven by his focus on meaningful relationships and intense care for his clients and team.
Doug enjoys presenting to industry groups regarding various aspects of the tax law and tax planning opportunities. He spends his time away from the office in the great outdoors, camping and hiking with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
Thomas Chen, CPA
Partner
Thomas is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Houston CPA Society, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Baylor University Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Taxation degrees. Prior to joining Aycock & Company LLP, Thomas worked with Margolis, Phipps, and Wright PC (which was acquired by RSM LLP) and Linn Thurber LLP (which merged with Ernst & Young) serving high-net worth individuals and their families and has experience with family limited partnerships, domestic and foreign trusts, private trust companies, and private businesses.
